Friday, December 14 - Spreading Some Christmas Cheer

The Week In Pictures
December 10 - December 14

Monday, December 10-
Today we worked on the letter Z - for zebra, zip, zylophone, zen, and zero.

Tuesday, December 11-
Wednesday, December 12-
Thursday, December 13-
It was business as usual on these 3 days; I didn't take any pictures because we didn't do anything out of the ordinary or different- We worked on some Christmas crafts, but that's about it-

Friday, December 14-
Today I went with the second-graders on their field trip. First, we went to the Pine Tree Lodge Nursing Center to sing Christmas carols and pass out Christmas gifts to the residents. Then we took the kids to Henderson to the movies to see "The Grinch" movie- The second-graders had a GREAT time and the gifts and songs were very much appreciated by the nursing center's residents.

Friday, December 7 - I'm Santa

Friday, December 7
The Week In Pictures
"I'm Santa"

Tuesday, December 4:
Today we had a good lunch of soup, baked potatoes, chili and beans, and all the fixings-

Wednesday, December 5:
Monday was the start of each day being some form of dress-up day, so Wednesday was  Day.
I got tricked forced coerced drafted into playing Santa, and after a few difficulties in getting dressed for the part (which was, of course, another FIRST- I'd NEVER played or dressed up as Santa ever), I became the new Kris Kringle-

I actually had fun playing Santa, and the kids were all happy to see me- There were a few disbelievers- "You ain't Santa! You work here!" - but for the most part, the kids all believed I was Santa Claus. As for my grandkids, Alijah saw through the disguise instantly, but Aaliyah had no earthly idea who I was, and I nearly scared her silly when I went straight to her desk and said "Ho ho ho! Merry Christmas!" to her-

All in all, I'd have to say it was a nice and positive experience!

Merry Christmas!!! Ho ho ho!!!

Friday, November 30 - The Week In Pictures

The Week In Pictures

Monday, November 26:

Today, we took a field trip to Henderson, Texas and went to Walmart and the First Baptist Church of Henderson. The First Baptist Church of Henderson, Texas treated the special education children from numerous schools to participate in a shopping spree at Walmart. The children and staff were instructed to choose $50 worth of gifts, which was covered by the Mostyn Moreno Foundation

On the way to Henderson:

The Tatum Middle School Choir performed at the event singing various Christmas songs.

The goodwill and gracious hosting exhibited by the Mostyn Moreno Foundation and the First Baptist Church of Henderson was very much appreciated, and I, for one, would like to thank them for their hospitality, sharing, and the giving of gifts to kids and adults alike- May God truly bless!

Thursday, November 29:
Today my co-workers finished their Christmas Globe door and wall creation- It is awesome!

Friday, November 30:
Today the kids made their own Christmas cookies!

The cookies shortly disappeared-
