Today I went with the 2nd graders on a field trip to Jefferson. We rode the train through the bayou, visited the alligator farm, rode on a boat past where the original port of Jefferson was located, went to the General Store where the kids had ice cream, and took a ride on a horse-drawn carriage through the surrounding historical neighborhood. Although I'd been to Jefferson many times before in the past, I learned a lot about the town and its history and I enjoyed the trip very much- So did the second graders including my grandkids-
