The 8th Grade Tatum Eagles Football Team defeated the Sabine Cardinals, 42-7 behind a powerful running game and a strong defense. The Eagles had an amazing total of 303 rushing yards. Alijah Williams carried 7 times for 114 yards, D.D. "Jerrick" Brooks carried twice for 101 yards, Caleb Varella carried 3 times for 27 yards, Dane Moore ran thrice for 34 yards, and Logan Thorn ran 5 times for 27 yards. Brooks scored 3 TDs (2 runs and 1 pass), Williams scored twice (run and a pass), and Varella scored on a TD run. Moore was 2-2-40 yards and 2 TDs. The defense was paced by Moore, who had 7 tackles, Williams (5 tackles and an interception), Jeremiah Thomas (interception and a tackle), Dylan Marquez (3 tackles and a forced fumble), Varella (fumble recovery and 1 tackle), and Francisco Aguirre (4 tackles). The defense held the Cardinals to 98 total yards.
